Bus Users on board for Catch the Bus Week

Wales operator loses licence

An investigation by a Bus Compliance Officer with Bus Users Cymru has led to the withdrawal of a licence from a bus operator by the Traffic Commissioner for Wales.   Read more 

Cuts lead to fall in journeys

With the latest annual bus figures showing passenger journeys continuing to fall, Campaign for Better Transport has called the decline an ‘inevitable consequence of years of cuts to bus funding’.  Read more

Improving access to transport

Paul Maynard, Minister for Rail, Accessibility and HS2, gave a heartfelt address to the recent Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friendly Transport Conference about the role of public transport as a lifeline for people who cannot, or choose not, to drive.  Read more

End to bus ban

Claire Walters, Chief Executive of Bus Users has written an open letter to Oxford County Council following an extension of their ban on buses into the heart of the city.  Read more

New face at DfT

Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire (pictured with Claire Haigh at the launch of Catch the Bus Week) has become the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for roads, local transport including buses, and devolution at the DfT.   Read more

Bus and coach builder Mellor has launched #Saveyourlocalbus - a campaign designed to support local bus services by making better use of size appropriate vehicles.  Read more
