Results are in for the latest bus passenger survey

Bus Users UK has welcomed the findings from the latest Bus Passenger Survey from Transport Focus.

Almost nine in ten of the 50,000 bus passengers who took part in the Autumn 2018 survey were satisfied with their last journey. In England 88% of people were satisfied and in Scotland the figure was 91%.

In England passengers on Trent Barton buses in Derbyshire were the most satisfied overall with their journey at 96%, while Diamond Bus passengers in Worcester were the least satisfied with 60%.

Satisfaction with value for money ranged from 81% to 44% across the areas surveyed in England (averaging 64 per cent).

Responding to the findings, Claire Walters, Chief Executive of Bus Users UK said: "It's impressive that bus companies are scoring so highly in satisfaction ratings, considering the pressures bearing down on them from all directions in recent times.

"But with services and passenger numbers declining, we urgently need a national bus strategy to reverse this trend."
