Replacement bus pass

Replacement bus pass

The Welsh Government has decided to extend discounted bus travel to young people following plans to end the MyTravelPass in March this year.

According to a statement from Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure, Ken Skates, discounted bus travel will be available to 16-18 year olds from April 1, with plans for a new Youth Travel Pass for 2018. Mr Skates also announced further work to encourage young people to use buses: “I will be establishing a wide-ranging consultation exercise to discuss with young people, including schools, colleges and bus companies a scheme that is attractive, can practically support them in their life, work and study and will encourage modal shift.”

Existing pass holders will continue to benefit from their discounted travel and new applications for one third off bus travel can be made by post or online.
