Wales operator loses licence

An investigation by a Bus Compliance Officer with Bus Users Cymru has led to the withdrawal of a licence from a bus operator by the Traffic Commissioner for Wales.

The evidence from Bus Users Cymru at a Public Inquiry was critical in the decision to withdraw the licence from Harton Coaches Ltd, which runs operations based mainly around school transport. The service was found to be so unsafe and unreliable that despite the obvious impact on local schools and their pupils, the decision was taken to withdraw the licence with immediate effect.

Bus Users Cymru dealt with 284 separate complaints during 2016/17, with 30 operators monitored by its Bus Compliance Officers over the same period.
