A Jersey bus company has found an innovative, space-saving solution to getting bikes on board buses with 12 folding bicycles available for hire to passengers.

The LibertyBike can be rented for 24 hours at a time via tablet, laptop or smartphone in a move that operator LibertyBus hopes will encourage more people to explore the island. Staff will be on hand with iPads to provide extra assistance. According to General Manager Kevin Hart, the operator won’t be making any money from the service: “The bikes are hired via Brompton’s website with fees going direct to Brompton – LibertyBus get no revenue from this project, it is simply about us listening to our customers, reinvesting our profits and providing a facility available for all to use.”
