Bus drivers ‘safest on road’

A national survey of road users has put bus drivers top of the safest drivers’ list, according to Continental Tyres

The study, designed to show how road users feel about each other, asked cyclists, pedestrians, passenger car drivers and professional drivers including vans, taxis and HGV drivers to vote for the drivers they felt were the safest and most considerate.

Bus drivers were voted top with HGV drivers coming in second and van and taxi drivers ranking last in both categories.

Matt Wilkinson from Continental Tyres said: “There is a willingness to learn about the challenges other road users face, and rather than tougher penalties, UK drivers are pinpointing education as the key to better sharing of our roads.”
